Matt Chatfield suffered his first competitive defeat in charge of AFC Mansfield as a dominant Staveley side ran away with the points.
A goal-fest of a first half saw the hosts go 3-1 ahead - with Ross Duggan bagging his eighth of the season for the visitors - before the Bulls fought back in the second half and halved the deficit through Duggan once again.
But the points were to go to the Trojans - who featured former Bulls Mark Dudley and Pat Lindley - as substitute Joe Pugh's bullet header restored their two-goal cushion and condemned AFC to their first loss of the season.
The Bulls will have the opportunity to right wrongs in just three days' time as they return home on Tuesday night to host Eccleshill United before travelling to Heanor for the FA Cup Preliminary Round.
