REPORT | Bulls 0-0 Marske United

Updated: Jan 1, 2019

A game devoid of clear-cut chances saw the Bulls draw 0-0 with Marske United at the Forest Town Arena.

Play-off-chasing Marske just about edged the game but never truly looked like scoring, whilst the Bulls took a solid point in a game they were not expected to take much from.

AFC's only real chance of the first half came on the half-hour mark, when Joe Iaciofano darted into the Marske penalty area on the break and skilfully cut past two defenders, but the Northampton loanee's finish let him down as he struck straight at Robert Dean.

Jason White was also called to action on at least one occasion, most notably when Liam O'Sullivan drove into the Bulls box before forcing White to save his goal-bound attempt with his legs.

Marske had the better of the second half and were only inches away from an opener when Jon D'Laryea had to sprint back to stop a cross from James Fairley being tucked home at the back post after it was tipped away by White.

Substitute Brad Plant had a positive impact on the Seasiders and almost separated the two teams within minutes of entering play, as Jamie Owens' strike deflected onto Plant's body before somehow falling perfectly for Jason White to gratefully claim.

Iaciofano again came closest for the Bulls when Ollie Fearon's cross was chested towards goal by the Northampton loanee, but Dean produced a fantastic diving save to palm the ball wide.

Marske captain Craig Gott could have won it at the death when he wriggled his way into the Bulls penalty area, only to shoot tamely at White.

The draw keeps AFC at the bottom of the NPL East Division table.
