REPORT | Goole 2-2 Buls

AFC surrendered a two-goal lead to share a frustrating draw in mid-Yorkshire.

Luke Walker and Ross Duggan gave the Bulls a quick advantage, but the hosts battled back to share the spoils with a late leveller.

Walker netted his fourth Bulls goal in all competitions with just six minutes played, knocking the ball superbly past four Goole men before calmly slotting home into Charles Dixon's bottom corner.

With not even 20 minutes on the clock, top-scorer Ross Duggan doubled AFC's advantage, driving into the Vikings' penalty area before firing past Dixon.

But the hosts crucially got a goal back before the break - Reggie Waud's superb strike halved the deficit and dragged the Vikings back into the tie despite the visitors having the better of the half.

The second period swung more in the direction of Goole, although Ross Duggan and Grant Ryan both missed key chances to surely seal the deal for Matt Chatfield's side.

Ryan flicked on Hugo Warhurst's long punt to send Duggan into the clear with just Dixon to beat, but the striker couldn't keep his effort down and sent the ball well over.

Five minutes later, Walker nodded down Brandon Webster's cross for Ryan to surely convert, but he too blasted over the crossbar.

It became all too familiar a story for the Bulls, and history repeated itself once again when substitute Terry Barwick levelled for Goole with seven minutes of normal time remaining.

It's the third league game this season where AFC have surrendered a two-goal lead to take just a point; their earliest chance to rectify the result comes on Saturday, when they welcome Garforth Town to the Forest Town Arena.
