REPORT | Bulls 0-4 Stamford

Updated: Apr 23, 2019

Visiting Stamford coasted to victory at the Forest Town Arena, scoring twice in both halves.

Joe Boachie and Rob Morgan gave the Daniels a comfortable half-time lead, before Jon Challinor's second-half brace rounded off a comfortable win.

Mark Ward made three changes to the Bulls' starting line-up, with Jon Froggatt and Ellis Wall making starts and Tom Crosby between the sticks instead of Jason White.

The first chance of any note fell to the visitors with 15 minutes played, as Rob Morgan twisted and turned on the edge of the AFC penalty area before curling over the crossbar.

Ryan Seal was the next to see an opportunity, and perhaps should have done better when he missed Morgan's low driven cross from the right and swung his foot at thin air.

A minute of madness near the half-hour mark could have seen either side take the lead, as Ollie Fearon's header from a Charlie Dawes corner striking the post before Joe Boachie slotted past Tom Crosby on the counter attack, only to be flagged for offside.

The visitors eventually took the lead from their first corner of the afternoon, as Boachie powered a header past Crosby.

The lead was quickly doubled within four minutes, with Morgan tapping home after Ollie Brown-Hill did all the legwork and squared across goal.

Ryan Seal had the chance to make it three in the second half after being fed inside the penalty area, but he dragged his low effort across goal just wide.

Substitute Jon Challinor put the result beyond doubt with 15 left to play, tapping home from close range after Crosby couldn't hold the ball on his line.

The Bulls struggled for chances, and Cameron Dear's free-kick saved at the near post by Haystead was the closest they came to getting a goal back.

Only seconds after Ollie Fearon saw his header from Marsden's cross held well by Haystead, Challinor rounded off a resounding victory for the Daniels with the easiest goal of the afternoon, converting a lofted cross with just Crosby to beat.

Fearon responded instantly with a low long-range drive, almost forcing Haystead to spill in front of an AFC man but not quite.

It could have easily been five for Stamford as Boachie tapped home on the goal line, but the referee blew for a foul on Crosby.

The result sees the visitors remain in 11th, whilst the Bulls' fate is already decided after being relegated earlier this week.

The Bulls now turn to a Bank Holiday Monday fixture at Carlton Town, who remain fighting for survival.
