It's a tough game coming up once again as Mark Ward's side face yet another promotion-chasing side, this time Pontefract Collieries.
Ponty, a familiar opponent having come up with the Bulls last season as NCEL Premier Division champions, were victors in a 3-2 thriller in the reverse fixture back in September, which saw AFC bounce back from 2-0 down before Eli Hey's second of the afternoon grabbed three points for the Collieries.
A victory for Mark Ward's side could push them up to as many as eight points clear of safety, although they could only move up one place to 14th if they better Spalding's result.
THE OPPOSITION
Fourth-placed Ponty have had a terrific first season in the NPL East Division, winning 15 of 27 games played so far and currently unbeaten in four.
Their main asset this season has been Eli Hey, the East Division's top-scorer with an impressive 22 league goals so far, five ahead of his nearest rivals Marc Newsham of Sheffield FC and Joe Lumsden of Tadcaster Albion.
Unfortunately for Ponty, however, Hey will be unavailable for the game against the Bulls after being sent off last weekend.
Among the Collieries squad is former Bulls forward Nick Guest, who left the club a few months ago.
TEAM NEWS
After missing out on last weekend's fixture at Belper, defender Jordan Annable returns to the frame as he looks to start against Saturday's visitors.
