Mark Ward's side responded to Saturday's heavy defeat by winning at local rivals Carlton.
Charlie Dawes' long-range effort in the first half and a late doubler from player-assistant manager Jon Froggatt ensured the Bulls would pick up six points in the space of nine days.
In a hotly contested game at the Bill Stokeld Stadium, the Bulls took the lead with just four first-half minutes remaining as Jon Froggatt brought down a long ball from Liam Marsden for Charlie Dawes to fire past a helpless Steggles from 16 yards out.
The hosts went searching for a leveller in the second half to aid their bid for Evo-Stik League survival but Froggatt sealed the victory for AFC when Fearon stormed down the right all the way from deep inside his own half and crossed in perfectly for the 37-year-old to convert from close range.
The win puts AFC 12 points clear of the East Division's bottom two of Carlton and Gresley, and although the Bulls will be stepping down a division due to off-the-field issues the win puts them in a good position to finish strongly and get past the 40-point mark on the final weekend at home to Frickley.
Defeat for Carlton means their fate will be decided on the final day, with just two points separating the Millers and relegation rivals Gresley, of whom one will go down with the Bulls come Saturday evening.
